Paris doesn't have to be expensive - there is a stereotype that Paris is really expensive - however, there are many ways to enjoy Paris on a budget! There are more expensive European cities.
Parisians eat dinner late - typically Parisians eat dinner between 8-9pm and as such, many restaurants won't open until 7:30pm.
Don't be afraid of using the Metro - Paris' metro system may appear daunting at first but with some practice, it's very easy to use and understand. Don't forget to buy the Carnet ticket if you're planning to travel around Paris during your trip.
Paris closes up in August - It is very common for Parisians to take August off so many businesses close. Tourist attractions will of course remain open as it's one of the busiest months for tourists but some local boulangeries and restaurants may be closed.
Paris has many more museums than the Louvre - if you're an EU citizen under 35 you can get to museums around Paris for free. Same if you're a student.
