I love travelling, always have and always will. When I decided to take a gap year before I university, I had a big decision to make. Most of my friends had gone straight to university so I had to make the decision whether I wanted to travel solo or book an organised group tour. I am so glad I decided to book group tours with G Adventures, it made my travel experiences the best I’ve ever had. I’ve made friends for life and I met my boyfriend on a G Adventures tour in Thailand! I now have friends all over the world, Abu Dhabi, USA, Australia, Northern Ireland and Germany to name a few. It’s opened my eyes to the world in a way I’ve never experienced before.
I would much rather experience all the highs and lows of travelling with friends along the way rather than being on my own. That’s what group travelling does, it allows you to experience all the emotions of travelling together. All those incredible bucket list activities, the memorable nights out and even the homesickness – it’s better experienced with people. They start as strangers and finish as family. The bond you make with your group in such a short period of time is so strong. Since my five G Adventures group tours from 2018-2019 I’ve already been reunited with friends I met! In May 2019 during my time in the US I met up with a friend who I did the G Adventures Hill Tribe Trek Thailand tour with. That summer too I also met up with a friend from Birmingham who I did the Rio to Buenos Aires G Adventures trip with. An even bigger reunion I’ve had was with five people from my Bangkok to Singapore G Adventures tour – we reunited in Bangor, Northern Ireland! These reunions show just how important friendship is when travelling – it’s one of my favourite outcomes of travelling, friends for life. I’m also planning a summer 2021 trip with my boyfriend and our friends from the SE Asia G Adventures tour – I cannot wait!
If you’re afraid of travelling alone, I’d highly recommend travelling in a group. There are so many benefits of travelling with like-minded people. I’ve had the most incredible experiences on my G Adventures tours and I cannot wait to travel again with my friends in the future. So, what are you waiting for? Book that trip!
