Learn some basic phrases before you arrive - there are some really good language apps such as Duolingo, Babbel and Rosetta Stone which can help you learn some basic phrases and vocabulary that you can use when you visit.
Speak to local people - this helps you to practice speaking the language as well as building up your confidence by taking yourself outside of your comfort zone. The best way to learn is to practice!
Join a local language academy - there are many language academies in Paris which provide language courses for all abilities (A1-C2). These are not only a great way to have some structured language learning but also a fantastic opportunity to meet new people in the city!
Watch French TV & films and listen to French radio/podcasts - this is the best way to practice learning the language day-to-day. You could listen to a podcast whilst walking in the park or watch the French news.
